The worst fall yet

The evening was awesome; the sun had just gone down, it was still light, so we went to 'walk the bridge' before bed (after we had already had a bath and in jammies mind you). Then the evening took a turn for the worse. Tired legs missed a step and down he went. Jack fell off the bridge and bounced his head off the concrete (bridge and concrete floor shown in the pic to the left) Now, this wasn't the first fall - but definitely the worst. I raced him back to the house on the 4-wheeler and Adelyn and Papa followed shortly after. He was gushing blood out of his forehead and crying like crazy. Poor guy. We wiped off what we could but the blood kept coming. Because we wanted to make sure there was no skull fracture, we headed to the ER. Long of the short, he ended up having a CT and it was normal. The Doc said there was a lot of soft tissue swelling but no fracture. Praise the Lord! Adelyn was a trooper and went and stayed and Cami and Wayne's while we were with Jack. What awesome friends we have!

After all was said and done, we got home around 1am with two tired kids. They glued Jacks wounds and we bandaged him up with Sponge Bob (I have to say, not much a fan of the cartoon but Jack and Chris seem to like it just fine - what can you do).

So, Sunday evening was low key and we snuggled in front of a show and relaxed. There it is, the wonderful Sponge Bob, always there Elmo and the brave Jack. Children are so resilient. We're so thankful for that.
